So, I'm new to beta testing Kaspersky - are the animated visual changes around the shield in exclusive to Beta builds or is it a new addition coming in 21.16? Also, I noticed that some of the real time components now use machine learning, which was only previously in the manual scans. Will that also be in 21.16? If so, this product's about to get a whole lot stronger and I'm all for it.

@dmitriy-pisarets Then I'm beyond excited to that, real-time machine learning for home products is going to be huge. I really wish the main application window would have rounded corners though - then it'd look perfect.

@crylune

I'm not sure that ML in File-AV is new, it's true that the word "ML" is new there, but in previous K. versions that setting appears as “Signature Analysis”, and in new K21.16 online help still the data is the same as in 21.15:

No changes in the info about that, the only change is that now in 21.16 appears also "Machine Learning" 🤔 and the "What's new" link for 21.16, does not mention that "supposed new feature":

So I tend to think that is was already being using in previous K. versions...

Maybe @Dmitriy.Pisarets can explain this...

@harlan4096 I contacted support about machine learning in the real-time components specifically and they told me it's exclusive to Endpoint products. Sure enough, my Kaspersky Premium only has signature analysis, but when I tried KES it had "Machine learning and signature analysis" just like it says in 21.16.

I wasn't around to beta test 21.15 and don't know if that also had "Machine learning and signature analysis" or just signature analysis.

Maybe the knowledge base entry is not updated yet and machine learning is indeed coming to Home products with 21.16. Surely, that "What's new" page isn't including the current beta 21.16 and will be updated once it's released.

One can hope, and I hope it is included, because machine learning was the most prevalent detection technology when I tested malware samples on KES, 70% of all detections were due to machine learning. Sometimes, Endpoint picked up malware on access with machine learning that my home Kaspersky failed to detect only until execution.
