I'm a little bit confused about the different versions of 21.x. Maybe you can shed light into the darkness.

Regarding the detection rate of malware, is there a difference between MR3 and MR5? Which version do you suggest to use at the moment?

I'm using MR5 for the time being. Would you suggest that I should go back to MR3? Especially because of .NET 5?

What do you recommend?
-

Hello! I cannot give you such info, because beta forum is not for distributing our release builds. (but may be someone else can tell you;-))
-

@helios, hello!

You've asked about malware detection. For many threats we have to main components - core antivirus wich is updated with databases (on regular base) and KSN, internet based component wich checks info with help of our web database.

So If new threat will be founded, you will be protected with mr3 or mr5 if you have a internet connection.

IMHO, the biggest, difference between MR3 and MR5/6/7 is new GUI. Full list of changes should be placed in "what's new" articles on our support web-site.

And of cause, new build is always preferable )
-

Online Installer for K2021 21.6 en_GB (GRPD compliance): https://dm.s.kaspersky-labs.com/en-GB/Kaspersky4Win/21.6.7.351/startup.exe

I just installed over my K2021 21.5c and went fine :)
-

@dmitriy.pisarets

Thanks very much for the explanation. 👍

@harlan4096

And here the US version. But I've not tried it out yet. In the US, there is a Californian one (similiar to the GDPR releases without any private data collection) and a non-Californian one. 😊

@harlan4096 @HeliosDo you have KTS download links?

Hello! There is no KTS after MR3 (21.3.*) version. From now one app is available for home PC - Kaspersky. Tiers in this app will define which features are available for user.
-

@hrh47:

New versions now are like this:

K. Basic (would be equivalent to old KAV)

K. Standard (would be equivalent to old KIS)

K. Plus (would be equivalent to mix of old KTS/KSCloud Personal)

K. Premium (would be equivalent to old KSCloud with additional Premium services)

Check this link: https://support.kaspersky.com/help/Kaspersky/Win21.6/en-US/152975.htm
-

So, I've installed the US version of MR6. Went all through the installation process without any problems. And in this version, you can also switch on and off the marketing collecting data (as mentioned above, the Californian version is like the GDPR policy). 👍😊

Just one importent thing. MR6 is still based on .NET 5 (x86) which will reach end of support on the coming May 8.🤔
