One: I think Network issue to access help file or support articles are not related to this incident in GUI. Please don't involved in some Irrelevant content to prove things. 
Two: Mask translated to 掩码 is not a self-made translated text. The <a href="https://cn.bing.com/dict/search?q=mask&FORM=HDRSC6" target="_blank" rel="noopener">dictionary</a> points out that in the IT field, its translation is 掩码. Web address mask and URL mask and URL address mask is a common and regular phrase combination. Both identify a regular web/url/link address that can have wildcard support. There is no shorter explanation than this. 
web/url/link address mask are the same meaning. Both nouns can be juxtaposed or called masks for web address , which are the same meaning. Also have the same translation. As for what you said users will not understand the meaning of this translation, that is everyone’s understanding.
