BackUp less than 3GB takes more than 15 minutes
-

Reproduction steps:

Just followed the BackUp wizard and selected the files (see attached screen-shot), no more than 3GB, and ran the task.

Actual result:

It took about 16 minutes to copy less than 3GB, in the system hard disk (Samsung SSD 850 EVO),

Expected Result:

Faster speeds to copy.

Hum... I think it's not acceptable, there are many free tools that "eat" (backup) tons of GBs in a short period of time, independently of the number of files, Macrium Reflect Free for example...

This is a common situation Kaspersky will find in a standard user system, with tons of pictures and videos (not my case / this case), and not with only 2,8GB, but probably tons of gigabytes in pictures, videos, documents...

How can We ask the user to compress all those files 1st in a file and then run KTS backup...
-

How about running a 4K performance test of your SSD using AS SSD Benchmark?

If the test shows your SSD still in good health, than maybe we should condsider poor design of K's backup tool.
-

Here are the test I performed this weekend:

Then I enabled Rapid Mode with Samsung Magician tool, and then:

And re ran a new KTS2021beta BackUp task, but I got the same time: 16 minutes to copy about 2,8GBytes of files:

It is also true that this laptop does not support SATA6 but only SATA3, anyway I still think this time is excessive for less than 3 GBytes.

As far as I consider, rapid mode and Sequential read and write speed actually do not help this kind of scenario

In this case, I believe, 4K performance is much useful. And screenshot suggest your 4K performance is not good at all.

If 4K is bad, when dealing with tons of small files, will take very very long time. How about those your files, are they large data or peices of sepertated files?
-

also, please note that, in beta version traces and drivers verifiers are turned on, they also have an impact on product working speed. If you can, please turn off them and try to reproduce it with perf logs

-

All the tests were performed with traces and App. + Drv. Verif. disabled, except the one when I collected traces, I forgot to mention it ;)

@harlan4096, oh. i see. But still, can you please get new traces with xperf logs?

-

Ok! let me a bit of time and I'll provided xperf logs, I still have to install Windows Assessment and Deployment Kit (ADK) for Windows 10 in this system...

KTS2021b7.318 + TAM On + App. & Drv. Verif. disabled.

BackUp of 2,8Ghz (in the same system SSD hard disk) took 16 minutes.

@harlan4096 one more request =)

What shows 2020 (b) and 2020(c) ? Same results?
-

Hum... I'm testing KTS2021beta in this laptop with its specific specs... to get results in the same conditions I should uninstall KTS2021beta and install KTS2020 and run again a similar test...

-

@harlan4096, I see, ok, leave it.
