  • Windows 10 x64 Version: 1809

KTS 20.0.10.954 de app + drv verifier enabled

    Reproduction steps:

I started the TAM full system analysis, i know its reported in different cases, but yeah.

It slows down my system, programs take very long 5-15min+ to start, if they react at all, after a while the gui crashed, i had cases of failed dump writing attempts, sadly didnt record that. But no dumps were written.

I wasnt able to restart the gui, it just didnt load.

I tried to restart the system, but had to force a restart after about 20min.

These traces are from my second attempt.

On the attempt before i had the same behaviour and the failed dump writing attempts, which crashed/restarted avp.exe.

The traces are from short before i started the analysis until i forced a shutdown becauses windows was stuck in the its restarting screen.

  • Reproduction steps:

    1.- Install KTS2020.

    2.- Update signatures.

3.- Disabled App + Drv Verif. and rebooted the system.

4.- Activated TAM via button [Enable] (NOT VIA THE SCAN OF ALL SYSTEM APPLICATIONS), and the pre-analysis started.

    Actual result:

The pre-activation analysis is extremely slow and took more than 6 hours and half, I'm getting this issue since the last 2 or 3 K2020 beta builds, but not with previous.

During this analysis my system becomes unusable AT ALL! can't open many applications, others running get freezes, I even can't open Windows Task Manager to check the performance usage.

During the analysis I also got a dump, but this is not the issue I'm reporting in this post, because I know other tester has already reported it.

I have Windows 10 Windows Search service disabled, also Superfetch disabled (because I use SSD drives), don't know if TAM pre-activation analysis uses those system services.

    Expected Result:

A 2~3 hours long (as maximum) TAM pre-activation analysis while I can work normally with my system, as before, in previous 2020 builds and versions K2018 & k2019.

Attached FULL TRACES + 1 dump during TAM pre-activation collected for near 7 hours -> more than 20GB of compressed data...

  • Reproduction steps:

    1.- Installed KTS2020 b20.0.7.895.

2.- Updated and reboot the system.

3.- I clicked in [Enable] button in TAM settings.

    Actual result:

My system got very unresponsive and slow, don't know it changed the priority of the analysis, but I even had to Pause Protection, and even though it consuming high CPU- Opening windows and applications takes long, even opening Windows Task Manager. I even can't finish the analysis and enable it.

When I clicked in Stop TAM analysis it takes long and after that I got dumps...

    Expected Result:

This behaviour in TAM analysis was not there in previous RC.

I will try to collect traces during TAM analysis later when not using the system...

  • Virtual PC:

    VMWare Workstation 15 Player

    Windows 10 x64 Version: 1809

KTS 20.0.1.780 de app + drv verifier enabled

Tried to close a process with application controll and got weird message.

    Message said "Static Static"

I still dont realy understand how to add an image here so i simply attached the screenshot.

  • Reproduction steps:

    0.- Enable TAM.

1.- Run the following ps1 script file Hello World.ps1:

    Write-Host "Hello World"
Write-Host "Press any key to continue ..."
    $x = $host.UI.RawUI.ReadKey("NoEcho,IncludeKeyDown")

    Actual result:

KTS2020 moves it to Low Restricted group and allows execution.

    Screen-shot: https://cloud.qainfo.ru/s/7b80TMnGolxXW7V

    Expected Result:

Script ps1 files should be blocked by TAM upon execution. I also reported this issue in previous beta testing and it was fixed... unless the policy to execute ps1 scripts had change?

4.- If You close VLC and try again, will open fast, but with every new session, or in the same session after some time, again You may get slowdown execution VLC.

I'm not getting this behaviour with all applications + TAM enabled, but probably it is reproducible with others.

I already reported this behaviour some years ago during beta testing of previous build of Kaspersky KIS/KTS.

    Actual result:

VLC takes more than 30 seconds to open.

    Expected Result:

VLC should open in about 1 ~ 2 seconds.

  • Reproduction steps:

KIS 20.0.0.318 de app + drv verifier enabled

    Reproduction steps:

    1. Open network monitor
    2. go to open ports
    3. rightclick on Kaspersky Anti-Virus(one of the open ports) -> Networkrules for the Programm
    4. Now you can change all the Application Controll rules for Kaspersky Anti-Virus

    Actual result:

You can change the rules for Kaspersky Anti-Virus

    Expected Result:

You shouldnt be able to change the rules since you cant access them through application controll

I considered this a bug since the rules arent accessible over application controll.
